Girvan’s 27 game unbeaten run came to an end at an entertaining match at Hamilton Park with the result in doubt right to the end.

Girvan had two early chances with Tony Murphy and Robert Paterson testing keeper Josh Lumsden.

Clydebank took the lead after 20 minutes when Calum Gow outjumped Scott Johnston to send a looping header into the net.

The Bankies doubled the lead after 30 minutes thanks to a through ball which saw Little round Johnston to fire the ball home.

Two minutes before the interval McGill laid the ball off to Kassabundie who sent a shot high into the net to give Clydebank a 3-0 lead.

Girvan pulled a goal back in the 62nd minute as Bankies’ Gow headed the ball into his own net.

Five minutes later Girvan were back in the match when John Frame headed a David Jardine corner into the net.

With 20 minutes of the match left Clydebank restored a two goal lead when Kassabundie set up Little who swept the ball into the net.

Girvan got a third goal in the 89th minute as substitute Sean Robertson headed home from close range.

In added time, a wonder save by Josh Lumsden denied Andy Stevenson an equaliser from an overhead kick as the Bankies held on for all three points.
