DEJECTED Troon FC boss Gordon Burns said his side produced one of their "poorest"performances of the season as they crashed out of the West of Scotland Cup.

The Seasiders slumped to a surprise 4-1 home loss against Premier Division rivals Kirkintilloch Rob Roy in a second round tie.

The game was deadlocked at 1-1, however the Lanarkshire visitors scored three times in the last eight minutes to seal victory.

Burns said his side were way below par and told Sportscene: "it was a really bad day at the office. We were not at it and Rob Roy were hungrier than us.. That was one or our poorest performances of the season Adam Forsyth gave us the lead. We played well around the time for 15 minutes around the time we scored but that was all.. We thought we could be preparing for penalties but lost three poor goals. in quick succession. We had kept a clean sheet in four of our last five games so it was really disappointing to concede four goals in one game."

Burns is demanding much more from his players as they host East Coast giants Bo'ness United in a Scottish Junior Cup third round tie on Saturday.

He said: "It's a home match but we will have to be at our best because if we play like we did on Saturday we will lose. Bo'ness will be up for it. as they won at the weekend. I don't think there is much difference between the teams and we will be looking to go through at home. We will be even more determined as we don't want to be out of another cup.

"I am hoping for a reaction from the players in training this week. It's good we have such a big match that we can bounce back for and everyone is looking forward to it."
