WELL I've come to the end of the Marine makeover experience

I've got to be honest, there have been times when there has been an angel and a demon waging war on my shoulders - 'go on just go home and put your feet up', contrasted with 'no, keep on going'.

But most of the times the angel won, I've managed to lose two stone over the period, drop a jeans size (and a bit) at the bottom, and two sizes on top.

The best thing is that I'm determined to keep going, and get trimmer and fitter in 2010.I may have been able to fit into a smaller 'little black dress' for Christmas, but by next year I would like it to be a proper 'lbd'.

I may have lost enough weight to be able to keep up with the kids round the theme parks over Christmas, but the next time I go on holiday I'd like to feel relaxed in a swimsuit, rather than hiding under layers on the beach.

Aside from the whole slimming down/fitness motivation, one of the things I've grown used to, and would miss, is making the decision to take some 'me' time.

Instead of just sitting at the side of a football field drinking coffee, it makes better sense to use some of that time to (try to) keep fit myself.

One thing which was particularly enjoyable (even though you had to push yourself to do it) was leaving home that hour or so earlier and making a stop at the gym /before/ work.

Having a workout and swim really set me up and made you feel more relaxed and able to cope with whatever your working day threw at you.

Must really look at making this kind of health club membership a permament fixture....once I've sorted out my post-holiday finances that is!
