Roisin's Marine Makeover: Week 8
IT'S been two months since I started my fitness lifestyle - am I still on track?
I only managed one day at the gym last week but I'm now back from my holiday and eager to get into it.
I expected my first visit to be a hard slog, considering I'd just been lounging about for a week. But I was surprised by how easy it was to get back into it.
While my gym programme is by no means easy it is something I am able to do.
I now complete 15 minutes on the treadmill of running and power walking, 10 minutes on the bike, 15 minutes on the cross trainer, before moving on to the leg, arms and chest weights. I then return to the cardio equipment with five minutes on the rowing machine, eight to 10 minutes on the wave machine - which feels like you are on skis - before completing six to 10 minutes on the arm bike.
After my personal training session with Sadie I also have a whole new set of stretches to complete before and after my work-out. She also advised me to do a few sit ups before starting my programme to kick those ab muscles into gear.
During the week I completed four nights at the gym, including attending my usual ab attack and Sadie's circuit class.
This week I was joined in circuits by my colleagues Lauren Campbell and Fiona Simpson. We're all avid gym users now but found the class tough going. However the friendly atmosphere of everyone certainly helps you along.
I'm determined to get in that little black dress for Christmas and with just six weeks left I better keep on track.
