Loans Gala Picture Special

COLOURFUL costumes were on view, high notes were hit and the sun shone as hundreds of revellers took part in the Loans Summer Fun Day, organised by the Gala Committee.

Children dressedas a host of characters, including Sportacus and Spiderman and joined Troon Pipe Band on a procession to Loans Public Park where the celebrations began.

Among the main attractionswere fun sumo wrestling and a bouncy castle as well as an opportunity to help take the wheel of a mini-digger.

Top class musical entertainment was supported by the Red Zephyrs who played an excellent range of tunes from acts as diverse as Paul McCartney and Wings, Queen, The Kings of Leon and Amy Winehouse and the beer and ice cream tents did bumper businesses with stalls run by groups including the Troon branch of the RNLI.
