Even the Weather was Kind...Eventually

THE people of Troon defied the weather to provide their usual warm welcome to the 64th Glasgow Taxi Outing last week.

A welcoming party, including special guest Duncan Bannatyne, from TV"s Dragons Den, greeted the young visitors and their volunteer drivers as they made their way to the esplanade.

Duncan said: 'This is a great day and the children are having a wonderful time, it has been a delight to support this very worthwhile event after I was asked.

'It all came about when I was at a dinner and one of the Glasgow Trip organisers asked me if I would like to take part in the trip to Troon and I was delighted to come along.'

Thankfully the rain eased off and the sun came out and the children, their helpers and drivers had a superb time - as did the hosts as people of all ages made sure it was another memorable day.
