Open-All Ours at Muirhead
Muirhead Primary's Welcome
PUPILS and staff at Muirhead Primary are now able to enjoy their £2million newly refurbished school as it"s official opened.
A night of entertainment at the school allowed invited guests, staff, parents and pupils to celebrate the completion of its upgrade programme.
The work, which has been ongoing for nearly four years, has seen the school transformed with the replacement of all windows and doors, a modern infant school extension, new toilets, ceilings and floors.
The building has also benefited from upgrades to all rooms, complete rewiring, a modernised kitchen, full redecoration, new pin boards, whiteboards, new curtains, new furniture and points installed in all classes to allow for the continued development of IT.
Launching the evening acting headteacher Caroline Connell said: 'As work on the building has progressed, I have seen many improvements and developments to the school building. This would not have happened without the support and financial backing of South Ayrshire Council for which we are very grateful.
'Ensuring 220 pupils are nurtured and learning in a stress free environment sounds like a difficult task, but with support from the contractor, staff, parents and pupils, we achieved this with relative ease.'
