A FORMER RAF pilot, who flew Wellington Bombers in World War 2, celebrated his 100th birthday.
Flight Lieutenant Harry Richardson, marked his milestone at an informal tea at the RAFA Club in Prestwick, where he has been a member since 1948.
Originally from Leicester, Harry joined the RAF in 1940 and trained as a pilot, initially flying Tiger Moths and most of time at war, was spent as a member of two Squadrons and flying Liberators with 159 Squadron and Welling Squadron Bombers with 149 Squadron.
After leaving the RAF, Harry carried out his successful career with the Civil Aviation Authority at Prestwick.
Harry has two daughters, Penelope who lives in Ochiltree and Lynda who lives in Girvan and he has three grandsons, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
