A major mobilisation of emergency services were called after a report of a person falling into the River Ayr.
The rescue services launched on Wednesday, September 27.
Police, Fire & Rescue, Troon Lifeboat, Coastguard Rescue Teams from Ayr and Ardrossan and the Prestwick-based Coastguard Search and Rescue helicopter responded to the incident.
With an extensive search of the area, the call was classed as a false alarm with good intent after a household item was identified and recovered from the river as was what the caller has previously spotted.
All resources were subsequently stood down.
