A WOMAN has been charged with allegedly driving a car, without the owner’s consent, and under the influence of drugs.
It is claimed that at 8.20pm on Craigend Road, Troon, on Saturday, August 5, the 24-year-old was observed driving the vehicle, by officers on patrol.
They had concerns about the manner in which the car was being driven and pulled it over.
The Ayr Advertiser Series understands that the woman was a disqualified driver, driving without insurance and an MOT and was allegedly under the influence of drugs.
She has been charged with being in possession of Heroin, a class A drug and diazepam, a class C drug. It is believed she tried to obstruct officers and attempted to dispose of the drugs by swallowing them.
The woman was arrested and detained for court. The 24-year-old was due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, August 7. As we went to press there were no updates.
