A THUG bit his mum’s head and kneed her in face after a drunken row.

Ayr Sheriff Court heard that he also attacked his kid brother as he was given community service.

The 21-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, lashed out at his two family members after a night of drinking.

He appeared before Sheriff Mhari McTaggart last week.

Procurator Fiscal, Stephen McLean, said: “At around 1:30am the complainer heard a car outside and was told by a neighbour that the accused was running down the street.

“Shortly, he came back to where his brother and sister were.

“He was shouting that he wanted to leave the property.

“As he turned to leave, there was a altercation with his sister who was trying to stop him.

“His mum tried to calm him but he pulled her and bit her on the head and kneed her in the face.

“The accused then shouted at his brother to get his shoes. He pushed his brother and punched him in the face.”

Mr McLean, added: “His mother contacted the police.

“An ambulance was requested and there was a large lump appearing on the mother’s head.

“The mother and brother were advised to go to hospital.”

Speaking on his behalf, defence solicitor Glen Davis, said: “This happened seven months ago and matters have moved on.

“My client has full acceptance of it all.

“He was out drinking which does not agree with him at all.

“The family are now fully supportive of him.”

As an alternative to custody, the accused was given a Community Payback Order with 12 months supervision

And he has also been ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.
