TWO communities are to benefit from a proposed wind-farm development near Dalmellington.
Patna and Dalmellington are just two of the communities in East Ayrshire to receive a large funding allocation once the 15 turbines are built.
They are to be installed near the Black Water.
The company involved, Energiekontor, based in Glasgow, say they place much importance on community benefit funding and shared ownership schemes.
The two villages are to gain a total of £35,478, with Dalmellington getting £19,574 and Patna, £15,904.
The company will be making an initial application to East Ayrshire Council within the next few weeks, but have already been active by meeting with community councils, property owners and other interested parties.
If agreement for the instalment is reached, a fund called Over Hill Community Trust will be set, which will operate democratically with an elected board or committee.
