FESTIVE revellers helped swell the coffers of two deserving projects to the tune of £4000 at festive concerts.

Two Christmas concerts staged by the Marr Cappella Community Choir in Troon Old Parish Church and St Meddan's Church brought in £2000 apiece for the Ayrshire Hospice and Comfort Rwanda and Congo.

The Hospice provides invaluable support to terminally ill patients and their families and cheque was handed over to Jean Gorman of the local fundraising committee.

The Rev David McAdam accepted the cheque for Comfort Rwanda and Congo and the money raised will be used to build two houses to accommodate some former boy-soldiers.

Marr Cappella Community Choir are now putting plans in motion for their Spring Concert, which will be held in Portland Church on Wednesday, April 26 and will also star the recently-established Junior Choir, Marr Cantante.
