TROON Gala Day has been saved after £1000 funding was secured at the Locality Decides event in the town.
The Gala Day funding was cut short after South Ayrshire Council had to make cut backs.
But after a pitching his plea for funding on behalf of the Troon Community Council, Robert Milligan received £1000 to help fund the historic event.
Mr Milligan, said: “The reason behind asking for the £1000 is because the council had to make cut backs and one of those cut backs was no longer funding the Gala Day.
“So because we weren’t getting funds for erecting stalls to local charities, we had to go to the Troon Locality Decides.
“It was a lovely gesture to give the Gala Day the money and I am delighted that it received the funds.”
On average, it costs just under £2000 to run the whole event so the £1000 that was received will help support Troon Community Council to run the Gala Day.
This year, the fun packed event is on Saturday, June 24.
