A blaze broke out at Troon's Co-op in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The ground floor fire started at around 3am on March, 7. The fire and rescue team had to enter through a window after numerous attempts to gain entry through the roller shutter doors.
The automatic fire alarm alerted emergency services who attended the incident.
Ayr Station Manager, Greig Fleming, explained: "We attended a well developed fire within the main shop floor.
"They had to gain access through the metal roller shutter doors using air bags. Access was eventually gained through a window.
"Fire fighters had to use breathing equipment and high powered water jets as they extinguished the flames .
"The prompt action of the crew prevented further spread of the fire within the building and the adjacent properties."
