FAMILIES and people of all ages have been sampling some magic at the Fullarton Fairy Trail.

Trees have been decorated with fairies doors, fairies and elves and a trail set up.
An appeal for pumpkins to be used as lanterns on the trail was a great success, attracting 70 donations.
The idea for the event came after Secret Santa organiser Campbell Malone put out a Facebook post asking for ideas for things for children to do in the community and Troon mum and shop owner Donna Reid helped set the ideas in motion.
She said:  “I suggested a fairy trail after seeing one in Aberfoyle. The post got a lot of likes and Campbell asked me how it could work. From that night I took on the project. It took three weeks of planning, purchasing doors, designing posters. I would like to say a big thank you to Lorraine Doak who did all the amazing artwork, Karen Martin of Material Things for donating bunting and my husband along with Rod McIntosh who helped install the trail. Both Lorraine and I have been overwhelmed by the reaction to the trail. The fairies and elves seem very happy in Fullarton Woods and we hope new fairies and elves will come to stay. Thank you everyone.
“I can’t believe how well it has been received. It seems to be quite magical. I think it’s bringing back happy memories watching children being children.”
