Safety Officers, Strathclyde Police and the Council's Waste Management department

Litter louts in South Ayrshire are being targeted by the police and council chiefs in a major clean-up operation.

The anti-litter project will see people facing stiff £50 fines if they are spotted dropping rubbish in the area.

SAC's community support officers and waste management department, along with Strathclyde Police, have been patrolling Ayr, Troon, Prestwick and Girvan in order to highlight their zero tolerance approach to rubbish.
