'Broken promises'

Prestwick residents have been left shocked by South Ayrshire's planning chiefs decision to approve such a large housing development.

Locals fiercely criticised the plans to build the 23 flats at Shawfarm Road, claiming they had been sold their homes with Dawn Homes promising the area would remain green space.

But at last Thursday's planning meeting Graham Campbell, director of Dawn Homes, said no guarantee had ever been given about the land.
