A CALL has been made for South Ayrshire schools to be given greater security as more two primaries are ransacked.

Several thousands of pounds worth of equipment has been stolen from Tarbolton and Coylton Primaries in raids.

Overnight between Thursday and Friday, February 26, thieves broke in and took laptop computers and digital projectors.

It was all the more daring with Coylton Primary as the school's based on the village's main road.

This week Kyle Councillor Hywel Davies said: "It really is quite upsetting because it means people have to go without this equipment."
