THIS winter scene was pictured by reader Hugh Inglis. The Ayrshire countryside was coated in snow and ice during the recent spell of chilly weather. Here is the river Girvan at Drumrannie Burns at the disabled access area.

THE Ayr Advertiser, Troon & Prestwick Times and Carrick Herald is offering our readers the chance to have their own pictures in our calendar next year.

All you have to do is send in a photo of South Ayrshire over the next few seasons.

We will select THIRTEEN up-to-date pictures (either transparencies, prints or digital images).

Brief details of the subject matter, when, where and date taken, should be supplied with each picture.

A stamped addressed envelope will aid the return of your tranparencies or prints, otherwise they may be collected after the winners have been announced.

Usual rules apply.

The competitor must hold full copyright of photographs entered.

Colour separations will remain the property of the Ayr Advertiser Series, Ayrshire Weekly Press.

While every care will be taken of tranparencies and prints when in our possession, no responsibility will be taken for accidental damage or loss.

All submissions must be clearly labelled.

You can enter by sending in your photos with the coupon provided in this week's paper OR email them to us at editorial.aa@cfpress.co.uk.

Good luck!
