Dad's Fake Note
A CASH-STRAPPED dad tried twice in two days to use a dud £20 note in Ayr shops.
Ayr Sheriff Court heard last week that Kevin McNeil, of Broom Crescent in Ochiltree, made his first bungled attempt on September 10 at JST Store in the Kyle Centre.
The following day he tried to use the same note to buy good at Sport's Direct's Beresford Terrace branch.
But depute fiscal Maureen Mullan said staff there immediately recognised that the £20 was not genuine and detained McNeil, 34, until police arrived.
