A SOUTH Ayrshire charity dedicated to helping homeless youngsters has celebrated a decade of repairing countless lives.

SeAscape celebrated its 10th anniversary with a buffet in Ayr's County Hall on January 15.

The charity, who receive funding from South Ayrshire Council, the Big Lottery, other donators and by holding a series of fundraising events, work throughout South Ayrshire to help people who are homeless or in need of a house.

Services provided include a rent deposit guarantee scheme, tenancy support, landlord liaison, flat sharing and befriending. The charity also works closely with South Ayrshire Council and other agencies but anyone over 18 years of age who needs to rent from a private landlord and does not have a deposit can apply to the SeAscape for help.

SeAscape's chair, Professor Gordon Wilson presented the event and introduced Norma Duncan who gave a short review of the past ten years and the way in which the charity had developed. Norma was one of the original volunteers who started the charity and continues to work tirelessly for SeAscape both as a director and in many other voluntary roles.
