Veteran Joe performs switch on

VETERAN Joe Parker from Prestwick is enjoying life in the spotlight once again.

The 89-year-old ex-RAF Erskine Home resident was chosen to switch on the lights of a special Christmas tree that has been put in place in recognition of absent friends and loved ones this Christmas.

Joe was also a guest of honour at a Rangers match during Remembrance Weekend and was featured in these pages speaking about a fascinating life that included playing golf with Bing Crosby.
