Single goal beats the Honest Men at Somerset Park

A BATTLING performance against the league leaders failed to reward Ayr with a deserved point on Saturday.

Queens' boss Gordon Chisholm praised United after the match, saying they "had fought hard - all the best to them".

Such plaudits are of little use to Brian Reid and his squad who had another bad start to the match when Martyn Campbell limped off after 10 minutes.
