A YOB hurled a firework at a car carrying a two-year-old toddler.
William McConnell, was the front seat passenger of a silver Peugeot travelling on the busy A77 a Bogend Toll near Symington.
The little boy's mother was driving behind the Peugeot when she saw McConnell, 34, lighting a firework, rolling down the window and throwing it.
Depute fiscal Isobel Vincent told Ayr Sheriff Court yesterday that the banger exploded directly in front of the terrified woman's car.
Miss Vincent added: "Her two-year-old son was in the car. She was alarmed and upset and contacted the police.
"The police received phone calls from other concerned motorists.
"A search was carried out for the Paugeot. The accused was traced and admitted responsibility for throwing the firework."
McConnell, 34, of Rankinston, admitted throwing the firework from the car to the danger of others.
