THE Barcelo Marine Hotel in Troon had a special open weekend for non-members to go along and experience the excellent leisure facilities on offer.

The winner of the competition to Win a Year's Membership at the Marine, run in conjunction with the Ayr Advertiser Series and Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald, was announced.

Alistair Kennedy, of Troon, won our fabulous prize and pictured is Abbie Gwynne and her gran Val Gwynne making the draw with sales manager Maureen Finnan.

During the event 45 people took advantage of their join for a coin offer where the joining fee was reduced to a £1.

Special master classes were also laid on and the chef prepared sweet and savoury bites for everyone to enjoy.
