A Good Evening To Celebrate Jean Armour's Life
A SUCCESSFUL charity evening was held recently to celebrate the life of Robert Burns' wife Jean Armour.
Guests and speakers were from all over Ayr and Alloway and the singer, accompanist and piper from Cumnock in aid of Hansel Foundation at Alloway's Brig O'Doon House Hotel.
Principle Speaker Marjorie Macdonald gave an excellent and sincere tribute to Jean Armour. Toasting the Ladies was performed by was Margaret Skilling of Alloway Burns Club who gave a hilarious speech.
Entertainment was also provided from Alison Jones of Alloway who recited Tam O'Shanter and A Man's a Man along with vocalist Pauline Adams who was accompanied by Jo-Anne Spreadbury on the keyboard.
