MEMBERS and volunteers at Girvan’s Age concern raised some £165 at their fundraising bingo event last week.

They were raising money for the upkeep of the hall, buy food and to allow the team to continue to organise future events.

The charity were supported by Girvan Youth Trust who loaned them the bingo machine and tickets.

Davy Gilmartin, who organised the bingo, said: “I would like to thank Julie Mackay and Linda Thomson for fun bingo calling, it was a great event.

“We want to thank the team at Girvan Youth Trust for helping us run the event and showing us the ropes.

“They leant us the bingo machine and Bill Logan of the Trust helped us on the day as this was our first event like this.

“Bill helped us so we can run the event ourselves next time and we will do out part for Girvan Youth Trust and help them whenever they need us to.

“Girvan Youth Trust do a great job. Next month we will host a psychic night as we are trying to raise fund for the upkeep of the hall and to buy the food.”

Girvan Age Concern is open to everyone and there is no age restriction. A three course meal for £5 is available from 12pm prompt on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
