ANGRY customers, living in Girvan and South Carrick, who use O2 as their supplier, say they have been without signal for one month.

It has been claimed that the masthead in Girvan, which serves South Carrick, has been out of service for at least one month.

One resident got in touch with the Carrick Herald after experiencing the issue and speaking to O2 to try and find a solution to the problems.

Our source said: “A mast in Girvan has been ‘down’ for the last month and when I phoned them for an update yesterday, they said they were still waiting on a supplier.

“For all of this time, using the internet on my smartphone has become almost impossible, with many pages taking five minutes to load.

“As I say, I don’t know many people on O2 in the town as 4G hasn’t got to Girvan yet and signal’s not the strongest out of the other networks.

“I find it quite ironic that on one of only two or three billboards in town, one of them is an advert for O2; probably the worst mobile network in this part of Carrick.

“I had cause to speak to them about my account today and the advisor told me that there had been a number of calls about this very issue.”

A message on O2’s Service Status reads : “Sorry there is a masthead near you which isn’t fully working and we are waiting for our third party supplier to fix the problem.” As we went to press there were no updates on this.
