VISITORS to the Ayrshire Vintage Tractor and Machinery Club’s 34th annual rally will find almost 400 exhibits on show — from classic cars to steam tractors.

The event takes place at the Whitefordhill Agri-Centre just outside Ayr on Sunday, July 23, between 10.30am and 4pm.

Entries also include machinery, tools, stationery engines, commercial vehicles, bicycles, scale models and a steam roller living van.

Two special features are also being staged which mark significant milestones for well-known companies, near home and further afield.
There will be a special display of equipment from Pollock of Mauchline who are celebrating 150 years of being in business.

Meanwhile. a similar tribute will spotlight a century of production for Fordson, Ford and New Holland vehicles.

As well as the popular autojumble and craft demonstrations there’s an opportunity to purchase from the many trade stands selling everything from wood turning, to handmade jewellery and greetings cards. 

A special ring event is being held this year, called Wheel of Tractors, along with a range of entertainment of fun and games and music.

Prestwick Dog Agility, chainsaw wood sculpture, pony rides and the ever-popular children’s straw scramble and a parade of tractors are among the main attractions.

Music will be provided by The Andrew Gibb Band, a popular Scots and country music combo, and the well-known Maybole Pipe Band.

Admission is adults £5, children and concessions £4, while car parking facilities are free.
