CULZEAN’S new play park was officially launched at the weekend and to mark the occasion some superheroes came to celebrate.

Wild Woodland is designed for children over the age of five and inspired by the rich natural heritage of the historic Culzean estate which has been in the care of the conservation charity since 1945.

At the weekend families were able to enjoy an adventure with a Euro Bungee, NERF Wars, Bouncy Castles, a scavenger hunt and more.

Culzean Operations Manager Gareth Clingan said: “Wild Woodland is out of this world, so we thought we should get some superheroes in for the weekend to help test it out. We want everyone who visits Culzean to have experiences they will never forget, and this is a fantastic new feature to explore and enjoy.”

The play area is the latest investment at Culzean Castle and Country Park which is currently benefitting from £2.5 million investment to improve facilities for visitors.

Parking improvements, landscaping works and new trails are all underway and will be complete later this summer.

Gareth added: “Culzean is one of Scotland’s treasures and we are looking forward to sharing and celebrating its spectacular scenery and amazing history with thousands of visitors this summer.”

The superhero weekend ran on Sunday, May 28 and Monday, May 29.
Culzean Castle and Country Park features in the National Trust for Scotland’s new recruitment campaign, which tells Scotland that ‘membership is the key to Scotland’s treasures’.
