A MAN was arrested for allegedly driving three times the legal limit in Girvan.

It is claimed that around 10:15pm on Saturday, April 29 the 20-year-old was driving a motor bike on Bridge Street.

The Carrick Herald understands police were alerted to the situation by a concerned member of the public regarding a male who was under the influence and driving.

He was stopped by police and failed the road side breath test. He was then taken to Ayr Police Station where he was required to do another breath test. It is believed he was three times over the limit.

The man has been released on undertaking but is due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court later on in the month.
