A CAMPAIGN that is challenging the wind farm proposals in the Girvan valley is hosting an event to continue ‘Save Straiton’.

On Saturday, April 22, the village of Straiton will be hosting a fun-packed event to raise funds to continue its campaign, which is challenging the wind farm proposals being brought forward for the scenic Girvan valley.

The event “Rumble in the Jumble” will be a modern take on an old fashioned jumble sale and there will be a variety of stalls of all kinds of collectables, clothes and furniture.

The event will also feature a selection of other independent sellers and quality home baked refreshments to restore flagging bargain hunters.

The ‘Rumble’ will be held in the McCandlish Hall between 10am and 4pm.

A spokesperson for the Save Straiton campaign, said: “We are hoping for an excellent turn-out, not just to raise vital funds but also so that folk can see for themselves the landscape that is at risk and can find out more about the issues involved.”
