A NEW £200,000 bar and restaurant was recently opened at Turnberry Holiday Park.

MP Corri Wilson joined guests and team members to officially open the new bar and restaurant at Turnberry Holiday Park on Saturday, March 25, following its £200,000 development.

The visit was organised as part of Scottish Tourism Week to celebrate the vibrancy and quality of tourism in Scotland.

Ms Wilson was taken on a tour of Turnberry Park by general manager, Lee Elliott, to see how the park has spent almost £1 million over four years.

The money was used to build a new indoor pool and sauna; improve electrical infrastructure and drainage, and add new caravan pitches to increase its capacity.

This year’s substantial redevelopment of the bar and restaurant has allowed Turnberry Park to improve the interior space and open up views across to Ailsa Craig for the first time.

MP Corri Wilson said: “I was delighted to visit Turnberry Holiday Park and to take the opportunity to promote Ayrshire as a tourist destination.
"We have so much to offer holiday makers, and they bring valuable business to the area.

“Bridge Leisure have made a significant investment here and the improvements the team have made are fantastic.

"I am sure the new facilities will be enjoyed both by new visitors and those who return year after year.”

Lee Elliott, Turnberry Park general manager, said: "The staycation trend of recent years has seen both holiday bookings and holiday home ownership grow, and we think that 2017 is going to be a record-breaking year at Turnberry Park.

“We were delighted to officially start our season with a visit from Ms Wilson and to be joined by so many guests eager to see the changes we have made.

"The new club has incorporated new stunning views of the Ailsa Craig on the horizon and has created a new beer garden behind the modern clubroom.

"Bridge Leisure, who owns Turnberry Holiday Park, were also recently voted into the Times top 100 employers to work for in the UK.

"This is an accolade that we are extremely proud of as it is voted for through the team members themselves."
