TWO school pupils were subject to a frightening ordeal as they were shot by BB pellets by two older children.
The incident occurred at 12.50pm on Friday, February 24 as police were called after reports of BB gun being fired at school pupils from Patna Primary School.
It is claimed the pupils were on Doonside Avenue near to the local shops.
Two 11-year-old school pupils were struck by pellets. Both children sustained minor injuries but neither required any medical treatment.
Two youths, both aged 14, are now the subject of police early intervention measures.
Sergeant Raymond Kerr, Community Policing Sergeant, at Cumnock Police Office said: "Discharging BB pellets towards anyone is a reckless and dangerous act. Thankfully in this incident no one was seriously injured."
