Narrowly avoids jail over discarded ciggie

A SMOKER spat on a policeman after he asked her to pick up a cigarette she had thrown on the ground.

Officers on mobile patrol in Prestwick Road, Ayr, at 1am stopped when they saw 20-year-old Lyndsay McCormack banging on a taxi window.
