Prestwick air traffic controllers raise £20,000 for Vanessa Riddle

ONE of Vanessa Riddle's biggest supporters donated £20,000 to her campaign this week.
Prestwick based NATS, the Scottish air traffic control centre that looks after thousands of aircraft every day passing into and out of UK airspace over Scotland and the North Atlantic, presented the cheque to Vanessa's grandfather - one of their former employees.
Richard 'Taff' Hale was an assistant air traffic controller, firstly with the RAF including tours in Germany, and then 40 years with NATS at their Prestwick centre before finally retiring in late 2011.
