Dedicated Poppy Stores for Prestwick and Troon
Remembrance Sunday
SHOPPERS in Troon and Prestwick were given an even better chance to support this year's Poppy Appeal with their own dedicated stores in the towns.
Prestwick poppy convenor Mary Devlin and Troon poppy convenor David Jamieson, with supporter Jim Aird, ran the shops.
The stores were opened by the Royal British Legion to boost this year's fundraising bid.
Both sold the traditional poppies as well as badges, car stickers and other remembrance memorabilia.
See this week's paper for pictures of both stores and their helpers.
Check out our two page Remembrance Sunday special, also in this week's paper.
