JOSEPH: Deputy headteacher said "Joseph was a valued member of primary 3"

FRIENDS and family of a young boy who died near Christmas last year now have a new memorial site to remember him by.

Joseph Gilliland was only seven-years-old when he passed away but in his short life had a wide circle of friends.

Now six months after his death Annbank Primary - where Joseph was a primary three pupil - has held an informal memorial service in their Campus garden to dedicate a beautiful bench in memory of him.

Joesph"s fellow pupils raised money for the bench by holding a sponsored 'Readathon.'

The memorial bench will be a permanent feature in the school"s garden with staff hoping i will be a quiet place where children can go to read or sit quietly.
