THE new commanding officer of the Air Training Corps in Ayr has been revealed.

Stuart Leslie has taken on the role after being in the Corps since he was 14.

After being with the 137 squadron, Stuart remained a cadet until he was 22 when he"d obtained the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer.

Always looking for a new challenge Stuart then became a civilian instructor for a year before going back into uniform as an Adult Warrant Officer.

Stuart said: 'Being new to the role I had to attend a course at Royal Air Force College Cranwell, which I completed in February 2009. Although the course demanded a fair bit of late night work it was very enjoyable and a good chance to expand my knowledge of the Corps by meeting the 18 other officers on the course."
