Teenagers paint Victory Park pavilion in art project venture
TEENAGERS in Ayr, Carrick and Mossblown have been painting graffiti on local buildings as part of a council project.
A series of graffiti community arts initiatives are apparently 'brightening up local communities' while helping to stop other buildings being defaced, according to South Ayrshire Council officials.
In Girvan"s Victory Park the Sports Pavilion wall has been decorated with football and sport themed artwork along with the pillars and window boards at Chestnut Drive which have been covered in abstract art.
In Ayr the old Pavilion block at the Craigie Skate Park has a skate boarding theme and with permission from the owner of a Chinese takeaway in Mossblown one exterior wall of the shop is now decorated with a striking dragon and Chinese themed artwork.
Community artist, Andrew Harris has been encouraging local people, with help from officers from the South Ayrshire Community Safety Partnership, to create striking and themed artwork within their communities.
