Passengers using ScotRail's service between Ayr and Glasgow Central remain unaffected by today's industrial action.
Contrary to some reports today, the electrified Ayr services are running as normal.
A spokeswoman for Scotrial confirmed that a normal timetable was operating on the line, as well as trains between Glasgow Central and stations on the Largs/Ardrossan route.
However, other services including the Ayr to Stranraer line - calling at Maybole and Girvan - and Ayr to Glasgow Central via Kilmarnock - calling at Troon and Stewarton - have been completely cancelled.
Replacement buses will be ferrying customers instead.
The spokeswoman added: "ScotRail has set up a dedicated website, www.scotrail.co.uk/strike that has all the information about services affected during the strike."
Anyone travelling by train is advised to check in advance if their journey is running as normal or not.
The next of the scheduled strike days is this Thursday.
