COPS are warning the public after a vulnerable man was duped into letting thieves into his home.
On Saturday May 21 at around 4pm an 88-year-old man opened his front door to find two men on Hillhouse Road, Troon.
Then men said they were working in the garden of the house next door, and asked to use the man's bathroom.
They then stole the homeowners wallet and contents.
The two men are described as larger built, tanned and one man was wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt.
They were also driving a Ford Transit van with a cage on the back.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
They can call police on non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
More information about doorstep crime can be found on Police Scotland's website.
