AS PART of their Rewind project, the BBC has released a number of archived tapes which are available for the public to watch.
And many areas of South Ayrshire have something to look back upon.
One video shows legendary journalist Jeremy Paxman introduce a news report on the then new Scottish Parliament's first-ever by-election in Ayr in 2000.
There is plenty from historic Ayr racecourse, too, as another video takes us all the way back to 1964 to show punters at work during the popular Ayr Races.
And in 1966, the Ayr Rangers ice hockey team are shown in a grainy black and white video practicing at Crossmyloof ice rink in Glasgow.
