A MAN has appeared in court in connection with a spate of offending at the weekend including allegedly stealing the guttering from a house.
Police received an anonymous phone call at around 11.30pm on Saturday night, June 8 which claimed a man was stealing gutters from houses at Glebe Crescent in Ayr.
Officers were able to trace the man when they attended and recovered the stolen property from his vehicle. But when they carried out checks, it was established that he apparently had no vehicle insurance and no substantive licence.
The 43-year-old was then arrested and searched. In doing so, police found him to be in possession of a small amount of Class A drugs.
He was thereafter conveyed to Ayr police station where he was charged and held in police custody.
He appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court yesterday (Monday, June 10) in connection with the offences.
