Troon rowers win Largs opening race
A SOUTH Ayrshire rowing team were crowned champions in a season-opening race.
Largs Yacht Haven hosted the first racing regatta of the year last month and Troon Coastal Rowing Club produced a top-drawer performance to win the event.
The race involved a triathlon (run, row and cycle), a three-kilometre row to Cumbrae and a series of short rowing sprints.
Having finished in the top three of every race, Troon scored a hard-fought points victory.
