A SERIAL shoplifter has been released from prison to go and stay with her grandmother.
Hayley Hyslop of James Brown Avenue stole alcohol from Iceland in Maybole in August last year before later stealing laundry detergent from McColls in Ayr’s Content Street in December.
A week later she targeted Superdrug in High Street, Ayr where she snatched make-up, razors and gift sets. She was also charged with thieving clothes from a Matalan store in Ayr.
On January 7, the 24-year-old was caught being in possession of cocaine at River Street, Ayr and later served time in jail.
When she appeared at the dock at Ayr Sheriff Court, her solicitor Mr Ian Gillies pointed out that she was looking better. He said: “She is looking a lot better than what she was when she got in. She needs some support. She has been in custody for quite a considerable time.”
Sheriff Desmond Leslie released Hyslop from custody and placed her on a Community Payback Order which will be supervised for 18 months. He told her: “You’ve been here before. You know the consequences of reoffending.”
The court heard Hyslop will go to stay with her grandmother in Prestwick now on her release.
