A STORE manager has put a big thanks out to his customers after they raised thousands for him to run the London Marathon.
Billy Matthew,46, who works at Morrisons in Troon has so far received donations of £1700 for the Willow foundation, a UK wide charity that gives terminally ill kids special days out.
And Billy has hailed the “brilliant” community spirit of his store.
He told the Ayr Advertiser: “I would like to put a big thanks to everyone who helped raise money over the last couple of months for an amazing cause.
"The customers have been brilliant with their collection effort and I really appreciate all the kind words from them.
“All my colleagues have been fantastic, and they do a lot for me, which is appreciated. Amy our community champion has done a lot to help and make the fundraiser a success."
