TWO TROON sisters will take to the ballroom dance floor to star in Strictly kids a special competition in aid of STV’s Children’s Appeal this Sunday.

The two dance stars will perform routines with their partners in front of 700 people in the final of the competition which 300 kids auditioned for.

Jessica,9, and Emelia,7, along with their partners are just two of 23 couples who will perform an array of ballroom dances to wow the judges and raise funds to help children from deprived backgrounds across Scotland.

The glitzy event is set to take place at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Glasgow this week.

And Mum Sarah cannot wait to see her girls perform after month’s weekly training.

Sarah said: “I’m just so proud of them. They are enjoying it so much the experience, it’s been brilliant.

“My parents are coming from Newcastle to watch. We’ve got their dance teachers who are coming to watch to support them. It’s going to be an amazing night.

“But the reason they wanted to get involved was to try and raise money for the children’s charities as well and to see them so passionate about helping kids who aren’t as fortunate as them that is just great as well.”

The sisters will not be doing it alone, much like the much loved BBC show Strictly Come Dancing they have been partnered up with two boys who have been working with them on their routines.

Sarah said they girls have got on great with their partners.

“They’ve got on really well. They are mostly matched on age and height. They have been getting on great. Jessica, 9-year-old her partner Elliot lives in Ayr.

Ayr Advertiser:

“They’ve all become really good friends they have become a little team. The final will be done in front of 700 people for the event so it’s a lot for them to dance in front of and Jess said ‘it will be alright because Elliot will be there with me’.”

Jessica will be taking on a tango in a complicated routine and Emelia is set to perform a salsa to a song from the Lion King dressed up in a little lion costume.

The girls are said to be huge fans of Strictly Come Dancing and can’t wait to be involved.

Sarah added: “They love strictly, we got them tickets at Christmas for them to go and see it live, they absolutely loved it and I think they both want to be on that ballroom one day.”
