MINDLESS vandels targetted a charity shop in Preswick during a busy night out.

Drunks left a gaping hole in the glass window of the shop, Shelter Scotland, which raises vital funds to help the homeless.

Police are viewing security camera footage to identify those responsible who smashed the window.

The incident happened at Shelter Scotland on Main Street overnight between Saturday, April 20 and Sunday April 21.

PC Clark, Response Officer at South Ayrshire Police is conducting enquiries at present and said: “We are reviewing CCTV and conducting local enquires – the town centre would have been busy so would ask anyone with information or who witnessed the window being vandalised to contact us”.

Nothing was stolen from the shop and there was no sign of a brick or anything inside.

Officers are appealing for information following the vandalism.

Anyone with information that could assist the enquiry can pass this to PC Clark by calling 101, quoting incident number 1248 of April 21, 2019.
